Pastor Jackson Emeritus

Pastor Willie James Jackson, Sr. is the oldest of nine children born to the union of the late Pastor B.T. Jackson and Willie Mae Jackson of Marion, Indiana.  Pastor B.T. Jackson was the founder and organizer of Rising Star Baptist church of Marion, Indiana, the church and ministry responsible for the spiritual development, licensing, and ordaining of Pastor W.J. Jackson, Sr.

 

Pastor W.J. Jackson, Sr. is the Pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church of Muncie, Indiana where he has served for the past eighteen years and the proud father of a son, Rev. W.J. Jackson, Jr., and daughter, Anitra.

 

Pastor Jackson’s educational pursuits include attending: Marion College (presently Indiana Wesleyan) of Marion, Indiana; Indiana Christian University of Indianapolis, Indiana; Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana; and a graduate of Miami University, Miami, Ohio, majoring in Religion and Psychology.

 

In addition to a very commanding pastorate, Pastor Jackson, Sr. also serves as:

 

  • Member of the Muncie Black Ministerial Coalition

  • Third vice president of the Northeastern District Sunday School and BTU Congress

  • Board member of the Whitely Neighborhood Association

  • Board member of Indiana Black Expo, Muncie Chapter

  • Board member of South Madison Community Center and Buley Community Center

  • A member of Delaware Co-ordinating Council

  • Board member of CAPE
